Are You Running the 2008 Tokyo Marathon?

The Tyler Foundation invites you to participate in the Shine On Marathon Challenge 2008 to help raise funds for the development of Tyler Foundation’s Shine On House in Japan. The Shine On House is a muchneeded family support centre to accommodate families of paediatric patients afflicted with cancer and other very serious illnesses in Japan. www.tylershineon.org This is an ambitious but very vital cause where your support, as either a runner or supporter, will assist in making a huge difference to the families and lives of children with cancer.

Runners—run for your country!
The foundation is asking all 2008 Tokyo Marathon runners to register for the Shine On Marathon Challenge as part of a Country Team or as an Individual. Runners will have the chance to train alongside talented marathon athletes from local Japanese running club Second Wind including top British marathon runner, Mara Yamauchi. To register as a runner for the Shine On Marathon Challenge please visit www.tylershineon.org. Registrations must be submitted by 11 Feb.

By registering, you’ll receive a Runner’s Support Pack, which includes: personalised runner’s pledging page, running T-shirt, regular e-updates, runner’s goody bag and a grand prizes for the most number of pledges, expert support from Second Wind marathon athletes, cheering squads at key stages around the Tokyo Marathon Course, warm-up training session with top British marathon runner, Mara Yamauchi, and after-party cocktail reception with Mara Yamauchi including complementary sports massage.

For those not running in the 2008 Tokyo Marathon, the foundation would like to ask you to pledge your support for anyone you know who is running in the Tokyo Marathon. The runner with the most pledges wins a grand prize so please help to spread the word by asking your family, friends and colleagues too!
