YCAC's World Culture and Food Fair
Learn about different cultures and their foods, be active, and take in international music and performance as you go with the whole family to a World Culture and Food Fair this Oct. 14. The free (except for food) event is being hosted by the Yokohama Country and Athletic Club and will take place on their property from 10am–4pm. This is the first of what will become an annual event open to all members of the public. The Athletic Club plans for members of the international communities, Armed Forces, and local residences to come together and mingle with YCAC members while enjoying food from a wide variety of countries as well as music and dance performances from Peru, Ireland, Hawaii, Japan, the USA, and more. To add to the fun for the whole family, a mini-Olympics will be held in conjunction with the event.
YCAC is a comprehensive athletics club that offers ways for the whole family to keep active such as sports ranging from cricket to soccer, taekwondo to snooker, and an array of children's summer camps and year-round programs including ballet, squash, and tennis.
The Yokohama Country and Athletic Club is located near Yamate Station on the JR Negishi Line, approximately 45 minutes from Shinjuku Station. (Please take public transit, as local parking is not available.) The event is free, and in case of rain, will be rescheduled for October 21. For more information about the event, please visit www.ycac.or.jp/Default.aspx?ID=783.
